I have a gift of coming up with new plots almost effortlessly. When you have lived in as many places as I have and done as many things as I have, there are always new stories using people and places I have known.
I have recently completed two further books – In the Wake of Betrayal and The Senator’s Mistress: The Woman Who Knew Too Much.
I am currently working on my latest novel, based on a Murder Mystery vacation in a recently restored haunted chateau hidden in the middle of a dense forest in France. Each of the guests has something in common. They have murdered or caused the death of someone – and got away with it.
The owner seeks revenge for the unlawful killing of the victims. The title is still under consideration.
I have very recently enjoyed an interview with Kate Delaney. We laughed a lot!
I am 82 years old and still finding new things to do.
In my spare time, when I can tear myself away from writing, I still attend a creative writing class for the stimulation I get from the other members of the group.
I am a member of a group of fellow quilters and am currently working on my sixth quilt, not including the ones for new babies in the family.
I play bridge once or twice a week and am a contributing member of a Crown Green Bowling club – called this because the green isn’t totally flat but has a raised section in the middle. Am also a member of a couple of village social clubs.
Apart from all those things, I still do quite a lot of charity work, including giving talks to various business and social clubs. I have four different talks I offer and, in some cases, have been back several times to the same club. All my fees go to the local hospice, for whom I continue to fundraise.
Every Saturday morning, I collect surplus food from a local store and deliver it to a church charity who provide cooked breakfast for homeless and needy people.
In my bid to ‘Let death find me climbing a new mountain’ – a quote from the former Jim Rohn, a boss I had in S. California, I am always ready to try something new.
Although taking up scuba diving at 76 was not the greatest of ideas! Equipment too heavy!
I love cruising and used to do a lot of travelling. There can’t be many places I haven’t visited. We had a holiday home in France very near the town of Chablis. We loved going there to stay.
My next cruise is at Christmas and New Year 2025, and I have been accepted to run some Creative Writing classes on board. So many people have said over time that they ‘have a book inside them’ but don’t know where to begin. I am planning to help them find their beginning.
I live on my own in a beautiful 250-year-old cottage in Cheshire, England. Fortunately, I have a gardener and a wonderful lady who comes to help keep my house clean and tidy.
The mad stories of my life and the lives of my very eccentric family can all be found in my book ‘The Quirky Clan’ which is now being published under a new title with Prime Seven Media.
I have even, on a couple of occasions found myself doing ‘stand-up comedy’. Love it!
I think the thing I enjoy most – is making people laugh!
